Our Mission
One day, we’d like to call you our colleague. To get there, you’ll be going through the long and arduous road known as medical school. And standing between you and medical school is the National Medical Admissions Test.
The NMAT is where we, the First Step Team, come in. We’re here to help you get the most out of your NMAT score, and improve your chances of getting into the medical school of your choice.
Our approach to achieve this goal is to provide aspiring doctors with both a cheaper and better review experience. We pride ourselves in offering a complete program with video lectures, handouts, practice worksheets, and a support system, all at an affordable price.
Meet the Team
Cole Cancio
MD-MBA
Cole is a doctor whose path didn’t start with a pre-med course. He was a graduate of Management Engineering from Ateneo who decided that he wanted to be a doctor. Not being from a traditional pre-med course, he went to a review school which helped him get a 99+ on his NMAT. He then went into ASMPH, where he got to be active in multiple organizations and sports. He eventually earned his MD-MBA, and passed the boards in 2020.
Rexelle Piad
rPm, md-mba
Rexelle graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ateneo de Manila University. She pursued medicine at Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. She passed her Psychometrician Licensure Examination during her second year of medical school and was able to balance her review with her current studies. In 2020, she graduated ASMPH with a dual degree in Medicine and Masters in Business Administration. She teaches Social Sciences and Inductive Reasoning.
Abigail Juat
md-mba
Graduating from De La Salle University with a degree in Premed Physics, Abigail decided to pursue her medical studies in ASMPH. Not only did she perform well in her studies, but went on to be a leader in multiple organizations, and constantly joined in tutorials for her batchmates. Graduating with her MD-MBA in 2020, and subsequently passing the PLE, she is now furthering her medical education in the USA.
Jevin Sarmiento
md-mba
Jevin graduated Honorable Mention with a course in BS Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University. He later took his medical studies in the Ateneo School of Medicine in Public Health, where he earned his license in 2020. Since he was in high school, Jevin always had a passion for teaching, earning the award for Best Student Teacher for English and Christian Living Education in 2010 and 2011, respectively. His previous experience coupled with him being a visual learner throughout his school years make him a great tutor for the Verbal, Perceptual Acuity, and Biology part of the NMAT.
